Lupe Moreno, Latina Minuteman

In 2005 Lupe Moreno captivated the attention of the media through her actions: she enrolled in the Minuteman movement and camped at the San Ysidro border.

Binoculars in one hand and the American flag in the other, Lupe was determined to stop any undocumented immigrant trying to cross into the United States.

She spoke exclusively with Guadalupe Vicon and revealed an unexpected truth: her father was one of the first “coyotes” (smugglers or human traffickers) on the California-Mexico border.

The story was aired by Telemundo Network.

Jesus Blancornelas, an Exclusive Interview for Telemundo Network

Jesus Blancornelas (1936-2006) was one of the most respected journalists in Mexico and a leading voice denouncing crimes committed by drug cartels in Mexico.

His coverage of the Tijuana Cartel and the Arellano Felix brothers earned him several death threats and an attempt upon his life.

Blancornelas was hesitant to speak on camera; but finally, he agreed to this interview, one of the few he ever did.

The location of the interview were the offices of his newspaper "Semanario Zeta" in Tijuana where he told Guadalupe Vicon about his personal crusade to find those responsible for his co-workers' deaths. The interview was aired by Telemundo Network in 2005
